Is there a farming mechanic for pumpkins? I’m trying to get a decent amount of pumpkins in survival for jack-o-lanterns instead of cheating disabling torch burnout, as a “I have to farm this to get lasting light sources” kind of thing. I’ve found pumpkins in survival, tried to do things you’d do in Minecraft for pumpkin seeds, like shearing them or putting pumpkins in a crafting grid. I don’t see pumpkin seeds or any of the like in the recipe book, I’ve put them on farmland, and nothing happens. Is there a mechanic I’m missing or is it just not implemented yet?

So I found out the answer. I did read the farmers’ almanac post, but apparently I missed the section on pumpkins. The answer, for those who have the same question I did is the pumpkin slices that looks like just a baking ingredient, also functions as pumpkin seeds. You craft a cutting board and knife with a wood block, stick and steel ingot, chop up the pumpkin into slices and plant those, and wait for them to grow.
