Guide to magic

Is there any good guide to the magic system? I am in mid-game and starting to have the resources to make some of the runes, but I have no idea how to use them.

For example I have crafted the Mob Protection Rune but cannot understand how to use it. Is it meant to be stuck on an armor? Wielded? Thrown? Eaten?

So many questions.

The protection runes are to put on mobs that you want to protect. It’ll keep your pet croc, or cow😁, from despawning or being killed by another player. The real magic stuff you want to play with are the tomes and staffs. Try the speed tome or earth staff first. Void chests are nice too. Tomes use your mana and you have to wait for the mana to recharge. Staffs can be recharged with februm.

Correct! Thank you @keihdra!  Also, one of the first suggestions from Google when you type in MeseCraft is “MeseCraft guides” so there is definitely interest in such things. The community forums are the first search result for that search too, which is great for now! 🙂
